Behind Closed Doors—JE Leppala Construction
Family, community and hard work are at the center of everything small business owner Joel Leppala does. The husband and father of two sons says his operation is a family affair. “Mason, the oldest one loves to learn the business side of things. Nash loves getting out and getting dirty”. It’s not just his family, he takes pride in having a strong family like crew and providing living wage jobs.
Every day they have been shut down adds $1,000.00 to their mounting financial burden and adds to the worries he carries for his employees. Joel has ten projects shut down around the county, each in varying phases of construction and all with great risk of damage and loss. With private construction at a standstill, this will only add to the shortage of housing that drives up prices.
As the owner of a construction company, Joel knows how to manage risk and believes that his crews and most of the building industry can work with safe social distancing. The professional trade association is able to set forth best practices so they can safely get back to work.
Thanks for helping us share Joel's story, his is just one of dozens across the county!
