We have to fight fire with F.I.R.E.

Whatcom County is a beautiful place to call home, but the blaze of extremism is spreading across the state and singeing us.  Now it is time to light our own fire.

F.I.R.E. is my four-part formula for saving our state and Whatcom County from extremist policies:

  • Financial Responsibility

  • Individual Rights

  • Represent the 42nd District--Not Seattle.

  • Environment and Quality of Life

Financial Responsibility

Seattle-centric politicians voted to burn through our state’s $5 billion surplus even AFTER the Governor declared a state of emergency due to the coronavirus, and we had begun closing down public life. Small businesses and workers who were laid off as a result of the stay-at-home order could use that $5 billion surplus now, but my opponent voted to spend it. We need leaders in Olympia who demonstrate financial responsibility, not only for current taxpayers, but for our future. I support letting the hard-working people of the 42nd District keep more of their money and once again, reject a state income tax.

Individual Rights

Individual rights are under assault by Seattle-led politicians. I stand solidly for our individual liberties, such as the right of parents to keep inappropriate sex education out of kindergarten, the 2nd Amendment, property rights and the fundamental right to life.

Represent the 42nd District

King County sued voters to stop the implementation of $30 car tabs that 42nd district voters supported. Seattle wants our car tab fees to fund their mass transit projects.  My opponent (“Seattle Sharon”) shunned our voters in her first term and publicly sided with Seattle Progressives as she has with most of her votes.  I will listen to you and represent YOU.  If Seattle is dying, why follow?

Environment and Quality of Life

Our family moved to Whatcom County for its pristine beauty, outdoor recreation, agriculture, industry and fantastic people. These are all essential elements of our environment, which is more than just water and trees.  If we follow Seattle’s lead, as my opponent favors, we stand to lose the Whatcom quality of life we all love and cherish. I will fight to protect our local environment and quality of life.  I will find common-sense solutions for our district that prioritize people and their livelihoods.
